DHL Global Forwarding has moved its Canadian logistics operations into a consolidated facility, housing both its Toronto regional operations and its Canadian country headquarters. The expansion involves the combination of the vendor's two primary facilities in Toronto into a single location, with 177,000 square feet of warehousing and 34,000 square feet of office space. Based in Mississauga, Ontario, the new facility more than doubles the amount of warehousing capacity provided to DHL's logistics customers in the Toronto area. It is equipped with security measures that meet the requirements of both Canadian and U.S. authorities. A separate warehouse and distribution operation in Toronto, encompassing 100,000 square feet, will continue to operate as before. The Mississauga location will serve as DHL Global Forwarding's Canadian gateway for international air and ocean-freight services, as well as the domestic pivot for the company's heavy-freight network and customs brokerage operations. DHL operates the Toronto warehouses as multi-client facilities, allowing small to mid-sized customers to lease warehousing space depending on their needs.
