RedPrairie Corp. has released a new Web-based application for coordinating inbound shipments and reverse logistics. The RedPrairie Routing Portal allows users throughout an organization to manage transport-delivery requests and coordinate dock scheduling with carriers. Features including validation, location profiles, alerts and automated communications to and from inbound suppliers. Customer or stock returns can be easily managed as well, RedPrairie said. The portal supports both inbound shipment-routing requests for consignee-controlled freight, and advance ship notices on vendor-prepaid inbounds. Vendors, carriers and customers can achieve greater visibility and control over freight moves through collaboration via the internet. Users can manage multiple shipment releases against a single purchase order. The tool also supports the intra-facility transfer of goods not for resale, as well as returned merchandise. The software can be deployed as a standalone application, or integrated with RedPrairie's warehouse-and transportation-management systems, as well as other third-party software.
