"Information Technology Litigation: Law and Analysis" is the name of a new book offering a comprehensive guide to IT-related litigation cases. The book's authors, Barry Felder, Frederick Whitmer and Jeffrey Weingart, are partners in the New York office of Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner LLP. Published by Law Journal Press, the book is intended to bring litigators up to speed on precedent and changes in the evolving IT landscape. The authors address legal issues related to software, digital content and electronic data across multiple disciplines and types of disputes. All three are seasoned litigators with experience in cases involving sophisticated IT issues, according to Thelen. Chapter topics include pre-suit considerations, copyrights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, privacy and data security, electronic discovery, alternative dispute resolution, and emerging areas of IT, such as virtual theft, computer trespass claims and voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP). The authors said they intend to update the book at least twice each calendar year after publication. Thelen is an international law firm with some 600 attorneys.
