Swiss WorldCargo has increased its freight-carrying capacity between Zurich, Switzerland and Tel Aviv, Israel, with the addition of an Airbus A-340 on the route. Operating three days a week until March 9, the new aircraft will switch to a daily schedule beginning March 12. That will give Swiss WorldCargo a total of approximately 42 tons of cargo capacity to and from the key regional gateway of Tel Aviv. Israel has developed a broad-based economy involving such industries as high-technology electronic and biomedical equipment, metal products, processed foods, chemicals and transport equipment, Swiss WorldCargo noted. The carrier said it would continue to focus on its niche strategy and products in the market. In particular, Swiss-Presso customers will benefit from same-day connections to most of the destinations offered by the parent airline, Swiss International Air Lines, Ltd.
