Access Business Group has acquired warehouse- and workforce-management applications from RedPrairie Corp., to oversee its 2 million feet of distribution space. Access processes more than 15 million packages a year. Among its customers is the leading website for online health and beauty shopping. Director of distribution Darren Puskarich said the company was drawn to RedPrairie because the vendor's systems for WMS, slotting, workforce management and parcel handling are on a single integrated platform and share a common architecture. Access is part of the Alticor family of companies, which also includes Amway Corp., Quixtar Inc. and Alticor Corporate Enterprises. It makes and distributes products worldwide, for Amway and Quixtar as well as other companies. In a related announcement, RedPrairie has teamed up with NetLogistiK to sell the vendor's Warehouse Management software to seven companies in Latin America. NetLogistiK will handle implementation for six new customers in Mexico, and one in Argentina. It has been partnering with RedPrairie since 2003; together the companies have 42 sites in Mexico and Latin America. The new customers include four logistics service providers, as well as retailers of pharmaceuticals and furniture.
