Montreal-based third-party logistics provider (3PL), FLS Transportation Services has acquired Georgia-based freight broker Scott Logistics, the companies announced last week. The acquisition aims to expand the cross-border 3PL’s scale and density in a highly fragmented truck load brokerage space.
“Scott Logistics is one of the fastest growing 3PLs in our space,” said John Leach, chief executive officer of FLS. The company has ranked among Transport Topics’ list of top 50 freight brokerage firms in the United States.
The acquisition creates a 3PL with revenues of approximately $500m, Leach said, and will add eight branches and five agent locations to FLS’ existing 10 branches across the U.S. and Canada.
“This combination allows us to offer our customers an expansion of geographies and enhanced capabilities by integrating with FLS Transport’s suite of services,” said Jay Matthews, president of Scott Logistics.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
