Intelleflex Corp. and SATO America, Inc. have entered into a partnership to market advanced radio frequency identification (RFID) technology worldwide. Intelleflex sells passive RFID tags and related products, while SATO combines passive and active RFID with global positioning system (GPS) technology. Its "closed-loop" RFID systems support vehicle yard management, reusable container tracking, and the monitoring of high-value assets such as medical equipment. Under their new deal, SATO will integrate its i-TRAK application with the Intelleflex Intelligent RFID platform, with an initial focus on new fleet inventory and vehicle yard-management applications. The Intelleflex platform consists of multi-protocol tags and readers for equipment and vehicle yard management, reusable transport item tracking, personnel monitoring and other high-value asset-tracking applications.
