TrafficCast International Inc. has entered into an agreement to supply road speed information to Mobium GPS (Global Positioning System), a mobile navigation product from GeoMicro, Inc. The data provided by TrafficCast's Dynaflow technology will support the expansion of GeoMicro's application into the consumer market. Mobium, an off-board GPS navigation application, has previously been deployed in large commercial fleets. Now, the partners will deliver up-to-date traffic information to consumers on their mobile devices. Real-time and forecast information to be supplied by TrafficCast includes road speed and travel times. The tool will support routing decisions for GeoMicro's latest product offering. Mobium handles data integration with digital mapping applications. Dynaflow models historic traffic patterns, real-time incidents, construction, GPS data, road sensors and weather, to generate comprehensive "red-yellow-green" advisories of road congestion. Until recently, TrafficCast said, such calculations were only practical in the 30 markets where traditional road sensors are installed. Dynaflow expands availability of the information to the top 100 markets in the U.S.
