RedPrairie Corp. and Telogis Inc. have joined to provide customers with more efficient tools for routing and transportation management. RedPrairie will integrate the Telogis GeoBase software into its transportation and fleet applications. Telogis is a vendor of location-based services and software, offering the OnTrack and GeoBase product lines. The embedded GeoBase application will give RedPrairie customers better map-rendering capabilities on a global base. Results, claimed the partners, include streamlined driving routes and decreased time and gas-wasting practices such as left-hand turns and traffic-clogged routes. In addition to the core functions of mapping, routing and geocoding, GeoBase provides methods to enable real-time routing and scheduling. The 2008 release of RedPrairie Transportation Management and Fleet Management software will include the option for the Telogis software built in to RedPrairie applications.
