Psion Teklogix has joined with AeroScout, Inc. to develop automated real-time asset-management applications. Psion is a global provider of wireless computing technology; AeroScout sells asset-visibility products such as active radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. Psion has integrated Aeroscout's Wi-Fi-based tags and MobileView software into its rugged mobile computing devices, to provide users with real-time data on the location of their assets. The combined systems offer accurate and scalable automated inventory tracking and yard-management, the partners said. They have already installed their first joint customer, at a logistics site for a major automotive manufacturer. The integration improves Psion's ability to deliver automation and operational efficiency to customers in a variety of industries and environments, both indoors and outdoors, the companies said. Psion also announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Aruba Networks, Inc., a vendor of wireless local area networks (LANs) and secure unified mobility systems. Psion will resell Aruba products as part of its industrial solution suite.
