Arvato Digital Services has integrated landed-cost engines and trade content from Amber Road with its SAP application, giving customers the ability to calculate duty rates and reduce carrier overcharges on shipments from the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Arvato is a global provider of storage media services to the high-tech, games, video and audio markets. Its products include customer service, replication, fulfillment, distribution, supply-chain management, financial services and electronic content distribution. Arvato has selected a landed-cost engine from Amber Road, including a Web service with content spanning 122 countries over 500 preferential-trade agreements. Landed-cost calculations integrate via the Web service directly with SAP, providing relevant duties, value-added tax, tariffs, excise duty and other applicable governmental charges. Integration with the Amber Road tool allows Arvato to audit hundreds of thousands of shipments per year, while ensuring that it pays the correct amount of duty to its forwarders, the company said.
