It takes more than the issuance of sincere P.R. statements to ensure real diversity in the business world today.
In the aftermath of the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and countless other African-Americans, businesses across the nation stepped up with statements condemning racism and inequality in the workplace. But relatively few have taken any subsequent steps to turn that sentiment into action. On this episode, we speak with Shereen Anis, chief executive officer and co-founder of Representation Counts, a platform for promoting diversity and inclusion in hiring. She explains why the actions of so many companies today to promote diversity amount to little more than “entertainment value,” and tells us what they must do in order to progress beyond that stage of empty sincerity. The time to address this “silent problem” in the workplace is long overdue. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
