Sky-Trax, Inc. has announced the commercial release of Total-Trax, the company's first complete vehicle and inventory-tracking system. Built on its Sky-Trax System and Skan-Free offerings, Total-Trax automatically captures exact pallet location and identification, vehicle locations, and the precise location and full-path tracking of all warehouse assets. According to the vendor, Sky-Trax tracks mobile assets and inventory indoors to within inches, without relying on human operators. Users get full visibility of fleet operations while enhancing driver accountability, productivity, safety and data integrity, the company claimed. In January of this year, Sky-Trax installed its first Total-Trax pilot in a 320,000-square-foot facility, replacing a system controlled by radio frequency identification (RFID). Total-Trax said it experienced a 100-percent increase in productivity with 100-percent accuracy for more than 20,000 pallet moves. Additional pilot results included no errors in inventory-tracking data, and driver training time reductions of 90 percent, according to the vendor. Sky-Trax specializes in automatic data collection and location-tracking systems for warehouse vehicles.
