Meet a woman of color who has broken down barriers in the railroad industry — among many other accomplishments.
Roquita Coleman Williams wears many hats: logistics executive, management and brand consultant, executive coach, public speaker and author of a book on empowering women in the workforce. But perhaps her most remarkable accomplishment to date has been succeeding in an industry that isn’t exactly known for its record of diversity. Williams has been a sales and marketing executive with Canadian National Railway (and before that, with UPS), where she not only held down an office position but also became a certified train conductor. On this episode, she talks about the appeal of railroading, her views on diversity in that industry as well as the business world at large, and her personal philosophy of life. (Did we mention that she’s been a yoga and fitness guru?) Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
Show notes:
Williams’s book, Storealities: A Collection of Stories by Empowering Women.
