Associated Global Systems (AGS), a U.S.-based provider of transportation and logistics services, has entered into a strategic alliance with S-Net (Holdings) Pte. Ltd., a logistics company headquartered in Singapore. The deal significantly expands the coverage and capabilities of both companies, according to Bob Imbriani, vice president of international operations with AGS. S-Net operates an Asian network of more than 23 offices in 13 countries; AGS has more than 50 U.S. branch locations and 75 additional distribution and service centers. Through the partnership, importers and exporters will get a single source for services, offering full visibility of shipments from purchase order to delivery. S-Net, a former agent of FedEx Trade Networks, had been looking for a strong U.S. partner to expand its service offering, vice president Paul Westropp said. Combined offerings of the two companies include international expedited and consolidation services by air and ocean, project-cargo handling, customs brokerage, distribution, order fulfillment, insurance and bonds, consulting, training, auditing and full domestic services in all countries covered by the partners, with online tracking and tracing.
