Seko Synergy, a U.K.-based provider of freight forwarding, logistics and supply-chain management services, has opened a dedicated office in Hong Kong. The new company is called Seko Synergy Greater China, or SSGC. Acting as managing director is Ian Richard, who has lived in Hong Kong for 15 years and formerly worked for UPS Supply Chain. The company said it has been looking for the opportunity to open its own office in Hong Kong for some time. Seko Synergy targets mid-market companies that might otherwise not get the attention of multinational logistics providers. Its services include vendor compliance, raw-material tracking, manufacturing control, inspection, origin logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, customs clearance, destination logistics, and Web fulfillment and electronic-commerce support. The company utilizes proprietary supply chain-management software. Seko Synergy has been developing its fashion logistics offering over the past 12 months, operating two large garment-processing facilities on behalf of leading U.K. retailers.
