Blue Sky Technologies, Inc. has launched a new appointment-management system. Known as JanusAMS, the Web-based application is offered via a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model. It gives shippers online access to warehouse dock-door scheduling, and provides for appointment setting with each shipper's motor carriers. JanusAMS will print gate passes for each carrier, enabling their more rapid entry into the warehouse marshaling yard. According to Blue Sky, the new system can help reduce congestion at both the dock doors and yard, where warehouse operators often have more trailers than available space. The vendor calls JanusAMS a natural extension of the dashboard technology it has offered over the past three years, for increasing visibility into supply-chain activities. Blue Sky's flagship product is known as Insight.
