Environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards are becoming essential to the success of global supply chains.
ESG is front and center in supply chain strategizing today. But meeting those ethical requirements isn’t easy. They cover a broad range of activities throughout the supply chain, all the way back to raw-material suppliers who can be difficult to identify. On this episode, we learn what it takes to embrace ESG with the help of two experts: Alan Amling, distinguished fellow at the Global Supply Chain Institute of the University of Tennessee, and Simon Knowles, chief marketing officer of Maine Pointe. They are the authors of a white paper on the importance of ESG to corporate leadership and supply. They discuss both the ethical considerations and business benefits of embracing ESG, and explain why for many companies it’s “still a hobby.” Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
