Brain Corp has launched a new software platform for commercial robotics. The latest version of the company’s BrainOS autonomous robotic operating system currently supports more than 20,000 autonomous robots operating in public spaces. It was designed to support a future generation of intelligent robotic systems to be applied across multiple commercial sectors, Brain Corp said.
The new modular architecture features advances that include improved localization and navigation performance, enhanced safety and reliability, better human-robot interaction, faster and easier product development, and the enablement of new vision-based artificial intelligence data applications.
Chief executive officer David Pinn said automated robotic systems, “are becoming increasingly compelling for industry leaders, due to their ability to seamlessly integrate alongside human teams and supercharge operations within a fast-growing range of commercial environments.”
As part of the third-generation platform launch, Brain Corp and global manufacturer Flex are collaborating on the development of a suite of enabling hardware components and a series of prototype autonomous robotics systems that address various commercial and industrial pain points. These are being developed with as modular offerings, for both the software and hardware components, with a view to offering maximum flexibility and utility.
Brain Corp said it expects the first robots powered by its third-generation platform to be deployed between late 2023 and early 2024.
