Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. has expanded its menu of supply chain services, with the addition of a warehouse-service offering. The company's new effort is designed to help customers without in-house logistics functions, according to Rick Keller, senior vice president of strategic development. Old Dominion will provide warehouse-management systems from SAP AG, from strategically located facilities at major U.S. gateways. Included will be a number of value-added services such as pick and pack, replenishment, labeling, Web-based visibility and reporting. The new division will be managed by Chris Reynolds, who has an extensive background in supply chain and warehouse services, according to Old Dominion. The company is a less-than-truckload "super-regional" carrier with four operating groups, including Domestic, Expedited, Global and Technology. Old Dominion covers 39 states in addition to providing international services around the world.
