Barcoding Inc., a vendor of automated data capture systems with radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, has added to its suite of products. The company has released the CaptureTech RFID Interpreter, a means of getting RFID tag data into any Windows-based PC application. The device utilizes simple plug-and-play technology. Following implementation, companies can begin reading RFID tags in less than one minute, while utilizing existing legacy applications, the company said. The Interpreter plugs into a USB port on Windows-based PCs. It then identifies itself as a Human Interface Device, and inputs RFID tag data into any existing application, including Microsoft office apps such as Word, Access or Excel spreadsheets. Data from the RFID tag can be entered by opening the relevant application and placing the cursor on the destination point. The RFID tag is scanned over the top surface of the device, where it is captured and placed into the software application. The Interpreter also has built-in Ethernet capabilities, the vendor said.
