A.P. Moller - Maersk officially opened the doors of its new global Innovation Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, May 15. The Danish shipping and logistics giant says the venue will focus on the entire logistics chain by using emerging technologies and new tools to improve the company’s operational processes. Additionally, the facility will pilot-test new ideas, which will be introduced as scalable solutions for customers if successful.
The Maersk Innovation Center will concentrate on end-to-end supply chain visibility, supply chain resiliency, distribution data, climate change solutions, transportation between retail facilities and fulfillment centers and education/employee training.
“Every company is navigating the macroeconomic environment, looking for new ways to ensure their supply chains are resilient,” said Narin Phol, president of Maersk North America. “Our goal is to ensure we bring an intelligent pipeline of business solutions to make their supply chains more agile, more responsive to market fluctuations and more competitive.”
