French logistics organization GEODIS announced May 23 that it had acquired Southern Companies, a Florida-based drayage provider. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed at this time.
The acquisition will see more than 80 South Companies employees across the Southeastern United States join the GEODIS workforce. Thanks to the deal, GEODIS now employs over 17,000 people across North America.

As of May 23, 2023, GEODIS operates more than 150 facilities in the U.S. totaling over 50 million square feet of warehousing space.
