Oceanworks announced June 1 that it had launched its Plastic Action Dashboard, a new tool that allows companies to measure, reduce and track their plastic waste reduction initiatives.
The dashboard offers access to metrics, orders, marketing plans and environmental compliance information all in one central location. The tool will aid corporate ESG efforts by helping organizations decrease their plastic usage rates while simultaneously improving their use of recycled materials, off-setting their plastics footprint.
“Today, transparency is more important than ever, as consumers want to know where their products originate and understand the impact of their purchase decisions. We are thrilled to give brands easy access to the very real stories of their plastic reduction initiatives,” said Vanessa Coleman, CEO of Oceanworks. “Our Plastic Action Dashboard arms our partners with everything they need to effectively and transparently communicate their impact.”
Every year, an estimated 11+ million metric tonnes of plastics enter the ocean while millions more are introduced to the environment. However, Oceanworks has removed over 8.6 million lbs. of plastics from the ocean as of May 31, 2023.
