Made4net, a provider of warehouse management systems (WMS) and end-to-end supply chain execution software, announced May 31 that it had been acquired by Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, a furniture retailer that owns and operates 482 IKEA stores in 31 countries around the globe. Made4net will continue to operate as an independent subsidiary of Ingka from its headquarters in New Jersey. Also, Made4net CEO Duff Davidson will remain on the company’s leadership team.
In a statement, Made4net said that Ingka’s backing is expected to increase investments in Made4net products and customer support resources.
The acquisition will see Made4net’s order fulfillment tools integrated into all of Ingka’s IKEA stores. The software provider said the goal is improving the interactions between the retailer and its customers, leading to easier and more sustainable shopping experiences. Also, Made4net’s SCExpert warehouse transportation and labor management platform will be introduced to all 482 Ingka IKEA stores.
