The French energy management company Schneider Electric earned first place on the 2023 Gartner Supply Chain Top 15 for Europe list after the organization secured a composite score of 5.98. In late May, Schneider Electric also claimed the top spot on Gartner’s 2023 Global Supply Chain Top 25.
“Schneider Electric’s performance, particularly in the area of sustainability, is indicative of many of the top European supply chains this year, which have performed particularly strongly on ESG criteria,” said Sarah Gilchrist, director analyst for the Gartner Supply Chain practice.
With a composite score of 4.15, L’Oréal earned second place on the list. Diageo came in third place on Gartner’s list with a composite score of 4.04 followed by Inditex in fourth place (3.92) and Siemens in fifth place (3.70).

The composite scores on the list are based on peer opinions (25%), Gartner research opinions (25%), returns on physical assets (15%), inventory turns (5%), revenue growth (10%) and ESG component scores (20%).
