RedPrairie Corp. has integrated the asset-management capabilities of its standalone Mobile Resource Management software into its Warehouse Management system. The move is one of several enhancements offered under the new release of the vendor's E2e supply chain execution suite. In the past, RedPrairie said, inventory and the assets used to ship it were tracked in two separate systems. With the new release, customers can manage the combined movement through a single process. The system supports the use of radio frequency identification, 2D barcodes and other automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) technologies to track inventory and assets. It works both within the distribution center and in outside situations such as trailer yards, product in transit, at customer sites and within a store's retail network. Both serialized and non-serialized assets can be tracked at each location, RedPrairie said.
