Many say that the relationship between the U.S. and China, despite a rise in tensions over the past few years, is too valuable to disrupt. Not so, says Jonathan Ward, founder of Atlas Organization, a Washington, D.C.-based consultancy focusing on the rise of India and China. He says the U.S. must take strong action to counter the Chinese Communist Party’s plans to become the world’s most powerful economy. That includes pursuing economic containment of China as long as the Party remains in power. It’s a battle for global power that can only have one victor.
