The Chicago-based logistics software platform provider Redwood Logistics announced July 11 that it had acquired Rockfarm Supply Chain Solutions as well as Global Distribution and Logistics. The financial details of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
In a statement, Redwood said that the acquisition “fortifies” the company’s fourth-party logistics (4PL) services.
Rockfarm owners, leaders, managers and employees will continue to operate under the Redwood umbrella, and Rockfarm’s Dubuque, Iowa-based operations center will function as a Redwood logistics center.
“The cultural alignment with Rockfarm and the strength of the team will mean our combination is even greater than the sum of its parts,” said Mark Yeager, Redwood’s CEO. “Together, we’ll offer our customers complete visibility and cohesion across their supply chain by eliminating touchpoints and leveraging business intelligence to identify best-in-class processes and market indicators.”
Following the acquisition, Redwood now represents a combined $5.5 billion in total freight under management on its platform, including its 3PL and 4PL offerings.
