Intel updates its progress toward achieving net-zero emissions worldwide by 2040.
Intel, the world’s second-largest semiconductor manufacturer, recently released a one-year update on its mission toward achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions. The initiative includes a target to reach 100% renewable energy usage by 2030, as well as the development of “green chemicals” in collaboration with industry groups and researchers, plans to save or reuse water in the manufacturing process, and creation of new microprocessors with higher computing power and greater efficiency. Fawn Bergen, corporate sustainability manager, joins us on this episode to discuss the many facets of the global effort. Progress has been made, but there’s a lot more to be done. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
