The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), a non-profit industry trade association with more than 1,000 member companies, announced October 4 that it had launched an online intermodal course for organization members.
The course is made up of eight modules covering topics such as seaport operations, container terminal operations, truck transport and rail operations. It was developed in conjunction with the Delft University of Technology and the University of Maryland Smith School of Business.
“This resource is invaluable to individuals who are new to intermodal as well as to those who have been in the industry for years,” said IANA president and CEO Joni Casey. “IANA is pleased to have worked closely with our university partners in developing this course for our members to use in ensuring that their employees are knowledgeable about the entire intermodal freight supply chain, not just the mode in which they are working.”
The IANA will host a members-only webinar to showcase the course’s content at 2 p.m. EDT on October 17, 2023.
