Just what is a “flexible” supply chain, anyway?
COVID-19 sparked an awareness among supply chain professionals of the need for flexibility, agility, resilience — all words for the power to withstand or head off the kind of disruptions that came with the pandemic. (As if they hadn’t already learned their lesson from a spate of floods, tsunamis, strikes, volcanic eruptions and every other kind of potential disaster.) But what does it actually mean for a supply chain to be “flexible”? On this episode, we get answers from Brandon Pierre, vice president of success with SPS Commerce. He discusses the benefits of “modernizing” the supply chain (while defining what that means), how automation can help, how to assess which systems you need and, most importantly, how to overcome the human resistance to change. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
