GT Nexus says it has successfully deployed a global shipment visibility platform for Suzano Pulp & Paper, one of Brazil's largest and fastest growing exporters. The on-demand platform connects partners, translates the incoming data and then provides Web-based applications that allow Suzano's logistics management teams in South America, North America and Europe to monitor and control the movement of its global containerized freight.
With annual sales revenues of more than $2.6bn and annual production capacity for 1.55 million tons of market pulp and 1.61 million tons of paper, Suzano is one of the largest vertically integrated producers of pulp and paper in Latin America.
"We have a huge ocean transportation network and have been looking for a proven system to get us the shipment status information we need," says Ana Paula Trilho, Suzano international logistics manager. "GT Nexus has not only helped us achieve global visibility but has also empowered us to improve our supply chain management processes across our organization."
GT Nexus says its portal comes pre-integrated to most of the world's top carriers and 3PLs, which enables new customers to get up and running quickly with high data quality levels. With the shipment status data standardized, a customer gets a deeper understanding of its logistics performance across partners, which enables a more proactive supply chain management approach.
