The Austrian logistics and transportation company Gebrüder Weiss announced it would be opening a new Air & Sea office in Brisbane, bringing the organization’s number of Australian offices to three with two other locations in Sydney and Melbourne.

The company said that it is planning to open additional offices in northern and western Australia to provide “blanket coverage” to the entire continent.

Gebrüder Weiss said in a statement that the container port in Brisbane is the company’s most important transshipment hub with a throughput of 1.56 million standard containers in 2022 alone.

“Opening a location in Brisbane represents another key step in our efforts to increase our presence in Australia. The services offered here are tailored particularly to customers from the engineering, agriculture and medical equipment sectors,” said Andrew Antonopoulos, the managing director of Australia and New Zealand for Gebrüder Weiss. “The services include air & sea transports, customs clearance and a customized logistics mix for project orders.”
