ThyssenKrupp Materials de México, a subsidiary of the German engineering and steel production conglomerate ThyssenKrupp, announced January 26 that it inaugurated its new service center in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on January 25.
ThyssenKrupp said that invested $37 million in the service center, which will go towards creating roughly 65 new jobs. ThyssenKrupp also said that it has invested over $100 million in the North American region over the last two years.
“The needs and requirements of the industry are changing rapidly,” said Martin Stillger, the CEO of ThyssenKrupp Materials Services. “In the context of the major transformation issues of electromobility, sustainability, and supply chain resilience, Mexico is a clear growth market for us. Here we can support customers with our ' Materials as a Service' strategy, precisely in these key areas.”
Following the inauguration of the factory, ThyssenKrupp now operates four total service centers in the country, with facilities in Saltillo, Puebla and Silao.
