RedPrairie says the latest version of its DLx Transportation solution introduces a lightweight, enterprise-wide distributable software client that allows for significantly improved user productivity for transportation planners involved in the planning, optimization and execution of product shipment delivery. The new Global Trade Management option provides enhanced international trade logistics capabilities, and the Fleet Management option optimizes street routing for managing fleet-based same-day delivery service.
DLx Transportation enables shippers to completely model and control management of contracted carrier and fleet resources. It provides the capability to structure carrier rates, manage carrier contract commitments, plan to available capacity, and electronically tender and monitor carrier performance and shipment delivery through a rich performance metrics scorecard.
RedPrairie says the solution provides a lightweight, internet deployable client that provides a "zero-administration footprint" for simplified IT management, and enables an intuitive "drag and drop" shipment management interface for increased user productivity. The software can be provided through a traditional licensing model or can be provided as an on-demand ASP-hosted solution to lower upfront purchase cost.
