Prescient Applied Intelligence, Inc. has released a Visibility & Analytics (V&A) Inventory Module, part of the vendor's suite of business intelligence software. Expanding on Prescient's existing application modules, V&A Inventory is intended to give suppliers and retailers visibility into data needed to manage the flow of product and ensure the availability of inventory on the shelf. The Web-based tool is built on Prescient's Demand Signal Repository, an intelligent data warehouse that manages point-of-sale and other transaction data from retailers and suppliers. The software keeps track of in-store positions as well as the quantity of product on the shelf. Equipped with a set of standard reports, it permits users to configure reports based on their choice of data attributes. Delivery information can be matched against point-of-sale data, allowing suppliers to see gaps in flow ratio and make proactive changes to ordering and delivery practices. Modules for the management of inventory, shrink and sales are available immediately. One for performance analysis is slated for availability in late 2008. Additional modules for supply-chain analysis, promotion performance and shelf productivity are in the design stage, Prescient said.
