A new report found that IT professionals across a variety of industries are concerned about cybersecurity threats to their organizations' supply chains.
Hexnode spoke to 1,000 IT employees in the automotive, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, shipping, and transportation industries, gauging their relative comfort with cybersecurity preparedness. Of those, 77% said they're apprehensive regarding supply chain cybersecurity threats to their respective businesses. Another 42% said that their organizations are "ill-prepared" for cyber attacks, due to a lack of a clearly-defined response plan.

The survey also highlighted how 41% of employees see themselves as only "moderately proficient" at using their organizations' suite of tools and technology to protect against attacks, while 28% expressed reservations about their cybersecurity budgets. A troubling 33% of organizations fell victim to cyberattacks over the last year.
"In light of these escalating threats, businesses must strive to gain a deeper understanding of their security landscape and take decisive action to fortify their defenses," Hexnode's report reads, stressing the need for organizations to find the "right mix" of internal and third-party technologies to train employees and protect their supply chains.
