The ongoing effects of COVID-19 continue to shape our business environment. This can be seen, for example, in the significant shortage of qualified truck drivers, which is causing freight costs to skyrocket. This challenge is particularly evident in special transports, which becomes critical when supply chain disruptions require rescheduling. While not every risk can be avoided, effective management is essential to minimize the consequences.
In response, TENNECO introduced their Premium Freight RFQ tool in 2021, utilizing the cloud-based AX4 platform, which has served as the TMS already since 2018. This new tool enabled standardized processes across four business units in the US and Europe, considering various metrics and considering region-specific packaging and dedicated carriers at business unit level. By addressing weaknesses such as inadequate approval processes and manual intervention, TENNECO has gained visibility into carrier performance, significantly reduced their costs for special transports through digitization, and furthermore ensured auditable order processes.
Join this webinar to learn from Katja Muenster, Integrated Supply Chain Process Manager, how TENNECO's strategic approach and technological advancements are driving efficiencies in global special transports, even in the face of ongoing industry challenges.
