DICK'S Sporting Goods has announced plans to build a new 800,000-square-foot distribution center in Fort Worth, Texas.
The new facility will serve more than 100 DICK's Sporting Goods brick-and-mortar stores across a handful of states. It will be built on a 90-acre site inside of larger logistics park off of the Interstate 35 freeway. It will include recycled materials during the construction process, as well as recycling programs for corrugate and plastic once it's finished.
"This facility will support the rapid growth of our business, including in the state of Texas, and enable more efficient and effective flow of product to athletes whether they shop in-store or online," DICK's senior vice president of supply chain Sean Whitehouse said in a news release. "We're also excited to play an active role in the Fort Worth community."
Construction is expected to kick off in the fall of 2024, with the facility scheduled to open sometime in early 2026. DICK'S also already has similar distribution centers in Georgia, New York, Arizona, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
