Well-executed mergers and acquisitions have early and appropriate participation in the process by the supply chain and IT organizations and a standard operating framework that is clear, repeatable, flexible, and adaptable, says AMR Research. They also have a laser-like focus on attaining the business objectives for doing the deal. What could result is the creation of one company with value greater than the sum of its parts. But this cannot be an assumed result--proper execution and collaboration are essential.
