Johnson Controls, a $27bn leader in automotive systems and facility management and control, has named DHL as its U.S. express service provider. The three-year, multimillion-dollar agreement follows a recent DHL announcement of enhanced air network and service offerings. Johnson Controls will consolidate all of its domestic air shipping to DHL as its U.S. domestic service provider, as well as rely on DHL for international shipping solutions.
All Johnson Controls business units (interior experience, building efficiency and power solutions), will use DHL's Next Day Air products to transport time-sensitive customer material, such as emergency parts for vehicles and control equipment, including heating and cooling systems and parts to and from vendors and company facilities throughout the U.S. Johnson Controls will also use DHL for urgent inter-office material, including the full company payroll distribution.
"DHL's scope of offerings, network capabilities, operational flexibility, and overall value best met our shipping needs," says Carolyn Woznicki, vice president and general manager of global procurement at Johnson Controls.
