RedPrairie Corp. has built new features for third-party logistics (3PL) providers into the latest release of its Transportation Management System (TMS) software. The new capabilities include a consignment-booking portal, easier and more precise client billing and contract management, and an expanded collaboration portal. The last component allows customers, shippers, carriers, vendors and stores to share information and jointly manage shipments online. According to RedPrairie, the new TMS release is designed to automate information sharing, business transactions and contract management, in addition to allowing invoice creation and adjustments between 3PLs and their clients. The application automates and simplifies the process of working with several different customers, providing new levels of visibility and customer service to the 3PL industry, RedPrairie claimed.
