Horizon Logistics, LLC has opened a new warehouse and cross-dock facility in Los Angeles. The operation offers integrated inbound and logistics services to manufacturers and retailers. Covering 176,000 square feet, it is located 10 miles from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, with connections to rail and road infrastructure along the Alameda Corridor. The center's menu of services includes port drayage, employing vehicles that are compliant with the ports' Clean Truck Program and the Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC); air freight forwarding, transloading for import and export logistics, intermodal transportation management, value-added distribution services, and long-term storage. Horizon Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Horizon Lines Inc., a U.S. domestic ocean carrier and integrated logistics company. It was formed in 2007 from the merger of Horizon Lines' existing logistics operations and the assets of Aero Logistics, a third-party logistics provider specializing in expedited delivery and special projects.
