Microsoft Corp. and business-to-business e-commerce solution provider GXS have allied to market solutions to speed and simplify integration between trading partners worldwide. The software and services involved include Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, SQL Server 2005, the 2007 Microsoft Office system and GXS Trading Grid.
"Businesses of all sizes continue to demand highly scalable and affordable B2B solutions that connect their trading and business partners," says Sanjay Parthasarathy, corporate vice president of the Developer and Platform Evangelism Group at Microsoft. "These solutions must bridge the information worker, developer and IT professional to deliver a seamless experience for customers. We are pleased that GXS is supporting key Microsoft technologies in the Trading Grid and will be bringing a Microsoft and GXS solution for real-time B2B collaboration to businesses nearly anywhere in the world."
GXS says its Trading Grid integration platform is the world's largest electronic business community, and is used by more than 40,000 customers to exchange goods and services.
Because GXS is using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 and SQL Server 2005 technology in the GXS Trading Grid, customers can extend existing internal investments on Microsoft .NET Framework-based technologies outside their enterprise through seamless integration with business partners.
For its part, Microsoft is recommending use of the GXS Trading Grid, according to a joint announcement from Microsoft and Gaithersburg, Md.-based GXS.
