Lockheed's contract to build the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter depends on a highly complex supply chain that includes hundreds of partners and suppliers of components and raw materials around the world. The demands of keeping this project on schedule and on budget require Lockheed to make sure all of its tiers of suppliers have the materials they need. Lockheed developed its own IT that not only forecasts demand for crucial materials, but it creates the visibility and collaborative connections to ensure these materials are available throughout the supply chain when and where they are needed.
