Deacom Inc. says that Jus-MadeLP, a manufacturer and distributor of frozen beverages and juices, has licensed the Deacom Integrated Accounting and Enterprise Resource Planning Software System.
The company had used a "blended system" of multiple software programs to run its business, according to Deacom. Because the systems lacked integration, Jus-Made was required to expend a lot of labor to get information that wasn't always accurate. Sales were handled manually from order entry through shipment. Lot numbers were handwritten on batch tickets for raw materials tracking. And a manual inventory process made it difficult to manage multiple product shelf lives for different customers.
"The more a company relies on manual processes, the greater the opportunity for mistakes," says Jus-Made president John Hampton. "Our goal in selecting a new system was to integrate all our processes in one location so we could easily access reliable data on a consistent basis."
Deacom says it was chosen in large part because its system is specifically designed to incorporate all the business processes of a beverage manufacturer, including recipe management, inventory control, purchasing, production, sales and accounting, in one system. Jus-Made should now be able to establish and control multiple expiration dates for the same product based on differing customer requirements. Deacom's Shop Floor Data Collection System will eliminate the need to write lot numbers on batch tickets, as system-generated barcodes will be used to electronically track lots from item receipt to shipment.
