ADSI, a systems integrator of distribution and wireless automation systems for warehouses, logistics and the supply chain, has added three cost-saving features to its multi-carrier management product, ADSI Shipper. One new service updates UPS fuel surcharges as soon as they are released. Another automatically identifies residential or commercial addresses. Companies lose revenue when they are unable accurately to identify whether an address is that of a home or business, ASDI said. The misinterpretation of a business instead of a residence can cause incorrect assessment of shipping charges. A third new feature involves full integrated of the Automated Export System (AES) for companies shipping internationally. The paper Shippers Export Declaration (SED) has been replaced with the electronic filing of AES. Shippers face up to $10,000 for an incorrect AES filing, the vendor noted. ADSI specializes in the design, integration, implementation, services and support of wireless, barcode and data-collection systems.
