ODIN technologies, which specializes in RFID services and infrastructure, has entered into a joint venture with Swiss firm MTS and the Hungarian government to form ODIN Budapest to meet the rapid growth in the European RFID market.

Sweeney says Europe still depends largely on "generalists" such as systems integrators for RFID services. Such reliance has led to "problem implementations" in the United States and Europe and has caused project delays and unnecessary cost overruns, he says.
