As of the end of February, Japan's Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) will offer a new dedicated service between the Far East and Red Sea, in partnership with China Shipping, Hanjin Shipping and Yang Mine Line. The new RES service will deploy six containerships, each with a capacity of 4,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), in a fixed-day weekly sailing. "K" Line, China Shipping and Hanjin will each contribute three vessels, while Yang Ming will supply the remaining three. The port rotation will be Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Jedda, El Sokhna, Aqaba, Singapore and back to Shanghai. The new service is intended to meet customer demands and enhance coverage between the Far East and Red Sea area, "K" Line said.
